Girona’s first Officially Protected Housing building for 2022

Buying a home has always been a challenge for young people. The main difficulty is usually having money saved to pay the entrance fee, taxes, the notary, etc. To all this, now has been added a rise in interest rates, which means more expensive financing than in recent years, during which rates have been enjoyed abnormally below 0%.
After a few years of growth and sustained demand, added to a low supply of new construction, it has affected housing prices, which have risen considerably if we add to all this the rise in prices of raw materials, the inflation and current international crises.
That is why one of the ways to access the purchase of a new home is through the VPO (Official Protection Housing). It is about facilitating the first access to housing, at a maximum price set by the Catalan Housing Agency of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
As a result of this, Inmobiliaria Espígul has developed a new project where it has obtained the Provisional Qualification of VPO for the next promotion that it will develop in Domeny (Girona) on Calle Font de la Teula 11-15. This is the first promotion for the sale of VPO flats that takes place in Girona in 2022, a 32-story building, parking lots and storage rooms with a concerted price.
The building will be located in an environment where the city is growing, very close to natural spaces such as La Devesa or Ter, with all the services (schools, nurseries, doctor’s office) and excellent communications. These apartments will have the most competitive prices in the area, and the first phase of 15 apartments is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2023 and end in the last quarter of 2024.
In order to access the purchase of the homes, you must meet a series of requirements, the main ones: not being the owner of any other home, using the property as a habitual residence and not exceeding the income that is stipulated at a maximum of €70,000 per year. To do this, it is necessary to register in the Register of VPO Applicants at the headquarters of the Generalitat of Catalonia (in Girona in Pompeu Fabra Square) or at the Municipal Housing Office of the Girona City Council (Plaza Pozo Redondo).
