Shortage of materials and slow distribution of materials in the construction sector

During the last months, with the conflict of the invasion in Ukraine and the economic rise of electricity or oil, the cost of construction materials has become even more expensive. Considering that the sector has been dragging along these last months, now it is beginning to be an unsustainable situation.
The construction companies cannot respect the prices set in the initial budgets, since the expected material does not reach them.
All these aspects together have caused the temporary stoppage of many works and construction material companies or construction companies are in a very delicate economic situation.
Another problem is short and medium-term supplies. According to a survey conducted by APCE (Asociación de Promotoras Constructoras de España) and ASPRIMA (Asociación Promotores Inmobiliarios de Madrid), 42% of those surveyed believe that they will have to stop the work already in progress due to difficulties arising from construction and energy costs.
According to the survey, in Catalonia there is only one construction project currently halted, and the forecast is favorable, since there are no plans to halt any more in the short term. For example, if we look at Madrid, there are currently two shutdowns and six constructions are in a state of alert.
On the other hand, housing developments may also be affected, because according to the same survey, 56.50% of the associates believe that they will have to stop projects that they already have with pre-sales.
